This project is an innovative citizen square design containing Jeollanam-do's identity and proposes an archipelago 279 square as a Jeonnam citizen's square through a study on the topographic characteristics of Jeollanam-do. Jeollanam-do consists of the coast of Rias characterized by the ocean with many islands, which has 1,965 islands, accounting for 62% of the islands in Korea. Among them, there are 279 inhabited islands, which I would like to suggest this as a unique landscape of Jeollanam-do citizen square, which is opened along with an artificial archipelago and a rias-style water space.
본 계획은 전라남도의 정체성을 담은 혁신적인 시민광장 디자인으로 전남의 지형학적 특성 연구를 통해 전남 도민광장으로 군도 279 광장을 제안한다. 리아스식 해안으로 이루어진 전라남도는 1,965개의 섬을 가지고 있는 다도해가 그 특징이며 이는 대한민국의 섬의 62%를 차지한다. 이중 유인도는 279개가 존재하며 이를 리아스식 수공간과 함께 열린 전남 도민광장의 새로운 풍경으로 제안하고자 한다.
Jeollanam-do is a typical east-high, west-low, and rias coastal terrain. Naju Plain is located on the main stream of the Yeongsangang River flowing to Mokpo, and the rest of the area is mainly mountainous and has many basins. The coastline is based on the rias coast created by the continents rising, sinking, and the lowlands sinking. Rias coast refers to a coast formed by flooding the area affected by river erosion due to crustal motion (submersion of the ground) or rising sea levels. In other words, unlike raised coasts, rias coasts are coastal topography caused by rising sea levels or sinking land into the sea. The coastline is complicated, the water is shallow, and there are many capes and bays.
전라남도는 전형적인 동고서저 + 리아스식 해안 지형이다. 목포로 흘러가는 영산강의 본류 쪽에 나주평야가 있으며, 나머지 지역은 산지가 주를 이루며 분지도 많다. 해안선은 대륙이 융기했다가 침강하며 저지대가 해침 되어서 생기는 리아스식 해안을 기초로 한다. 리아스식
해안(一式海岸, 갈리시아어: rías)은 하천 침식을 받은 지역이 지각 운동(지반의 침강)이나 해수면의 상승으로 침수되어 형성된 해안을 말한다. 단구나 융기해안과 달리 리아스식 해안은 해수면이 상승하거나 육지가 바다에 가라앉아 생기는 해안 지형이다. 해안선이 복잡하며, 수심이 얕고 곶과 만이 많다.
The aerial walkway is the frame of the square, which is set to reflect the city structure. In order to link the Archipelago 279 Square with the Cetral park, the sky-promenade frame is planned in a public way around the city axis, and the sky platform and outdoor theater are planned towards Central garden. The Rias-style water space in the square is placed through the linkage expansion of the water ponds in front of the Jeonnam Provincial Government as well as coordinates the central park's axis and the landscape of the square. Cultural facilities (libraries, exhibition spaces) are planned underground to preserve an innovative landscape of Archipelago 279 square.
공중산책로는 도시구조를 반영하여 설정된 광장의 프레임이다. 도청광장과 중앙공원의 연계를 위해 도시 축을 중심으로 공중산책로 프레임을 계획하고 중앙동산을 향하여 스카이 플랫폼과 야외 공연장을 계획한다. 광장의 리아스식 수공간은 도청 앞 수공간의 연계 확장을 통해 배치하고 중앙공원의 축과 광장의 풍경을 조율한다.
문화복합시설(도서관, 전시공간)은 지상의 군도 279 광장의 독창적인 풍경을 제안하기 위해 지하에 계획한다.
